  1. Fixed the ac_data.zip link.
  2. I just wanted to give a shout out to Andy Cataldo, also known as "Frelorn", for dropping by our Discord chat the other day! It was awesome to see him around answering some basic questions from the community and I hope he stops by more often! Thank you. Here's a pic of Frelorn in his Admin armor in-game: He expressed how much he missed Asheron's Call, the players, and helping out the community in general. He also let us know that he is indeed under a Non Disclosure Agreement for now so what he says or can do to help is very limited (which isn't surprising). Here's a quick recap of the conversation in case you missed it:

  4. Here are the official files from Turbine: http://content.turbine.com/sites/cli...ac1install.exe http://content.turbine.com/acpatch/ac_data.zip
  5. It's probably not worth setting up a server at the moment unless you're a C# developer looking to contribute. There's not a whole lot players can do besides run around at the moment. I'm sure someone will eventually make a video on how to set everything up once we get further down the road. Eventually ACEmu will be as close as possible to how AC was right before it was shut down. I can't speak for PhatAC but I truly doubt they have the same goal in mind.
  6. Your Discord ban was lifted shortly after it happened. I agree that it should have just been deleted and a warning issued first. What I don't agree with is this childish comment, especially for a 48 year old veteran. Do you seriously think that trolling and saying "let the fun begin" is the best way to go about things?
  7. Looks like you're mixing up ACEmu with PhatAC. PhatAC is closed source and doesn't allow people to create their own server. Where as ACEmu is open source and allows anyone to create their own server. Take a look at our Github Readme for quick instructions on creating your own server: Here You can also join our Discord chat channel and ask for some help there and I'm sure someone would be more than happy to help!
  8. Indeed it is! It's always great to see more people interested in helping with the development of ACEmu.
  9. Hey there, welcome to the forums! ACEmu isn't very user friendly at the moment since we're still in the beginning stages of development. You'll need to set up a few different programs to get started: Visual Studio 2015 (2017 works too) [Needed to compile the source code] MySQL 5.6 or MariaDB 10+ [Needed for the database] DB Manager (Most people use HeidiSQL which is included with MariaDB) [Needed to edit the database and import SQL files] That's only the start of it. You'll then need to download the source code from our Github, compile it in Visual Studio, install the database software, import the database files into it, and change the settings of Config.json to your own. There are some other steps as well depending on if you want to run it locally or have other people connect to it. Honestly I'd suggest to head on over to our Discord chat channel and ask for some help in the #acemu_help channel if you're dead set on trying to get an ACEmu server up and running and you're new to this stuff. You can join our Discord chat here, no need to sign up: https://discord.gg/mVtGhSv
  10. The great thing about emulators is the fact that you're able to modify almost anything that you didn't like about the original game through code changes, database edits, rule settings, quest scripts, and more. Although our end goal is to recreate Asheron's Call as it was before the servers went down, you'll still be able to edit the game to your own vision. Database edits and rule settings will be the easiest way to change things up while scripting quests and direct source edits will be more difficult depending on your knowledge of C# and whatever scripting language we use for quests (most likely LUA).
  11. Looks like it's coming along nicely, impressive work.
  12. Hi Drex, ACEmu doesn't have spells or most animations working just yet. You're probably referring to UAS2 or the "other" closed source emulator, both of which have nothing to do with us. I know it's a bit confusing but ACEmu is the new project which started a couple months ago when the official servers were shut down. The other two projects were started over a decade ago and currently have more working features than ACEmu.
  13. Our very own @Mogwai put together a very helpful video on how to work with ACLogView and the basic implementation of objects into the ACEmu server. He did an outstanding job explaining some of the inner workings of object creation so check it out if you're interested in this kind of stuff! Huge thanks to Mogwai for hosting this video conference!
  14. So, I decided to sneak the forum upgrade in without scheduling a downtime. Here's a quick rundown of what to expect: Your account information and password are the same if you're already a member. Most data including topics, replies, reputation, profiles, PM's, and more are intact after the conversion. Some minor things like the amount of topic "views" and "most users online" have been reset to 0. ACEmulator now has an entirely new look and feel to it! Minor bugs after conversion: Converted posts have an extra space inserted between line breaks. Future posts won't have this issue. They can also be edited to remove the extra spaces if need be. Converted topics show one less post than they really have. This fixes itself if a new post is added. In case you're wondering, one of the main reasons for the switch is the fact that IPS has hundreds of useful plugins while vBulletin Connect literally has none. There's really a lot of good reasons for the switch though besides that and I hope you all enjoy the new look and feel of our forums! I haven't noticed any major bugs yet myself but please send me a PM if you run into any and I'll do my best to get it fixed ASAP.
